I awoke very early this morning - as I have already mentioned in my first post - and I have to say that I managed to make it through until 6pm. Our dinner tonight was served at 7pm and I had to be woken from my nap so I could join in the evening meal.
Around 8am, we were served a healthy breakfast of fresh bananas from the garden, toast and jam, ghee with a curry sauce and an essential morning coffee to start our day. Our plan today was to prepare for the video by walking the grounds and visualizing what and who we want to include in our project. Francis will need some assistance, although at first he was rather reluctant to accept the help, but when Chandra introduced us to Gangadhar, (we call him Gang-ga) we knew this was going to be an even better team. Francis explained to Ganga what his equipment is used for and how to care for it. The most popular item was the mini-camera that Francis has been using since he walked into the Montreal airport. Such a subtle recording device when it's attached to a piece of luggage but not so subtle when it's stuck to one's forehead! Ganga works as an operation theater assistant at the Srikiran Eye Hospital and attended grades 1 through 7 here at Sarada Vidyalayam. He is now about 23 years old and is the son of one of the gardeners here on the campus.
This morning, we sat and watched videos about Dr. Chandra and MSMF that were produced by the CBC: A Ray of Light (2005) was created by CBC journalist Terry Milewski and another in 2010 by Adrienne Arsenault. Francis and Dominique took notes and were inspired by how Chandra's story has been told. Once the viewing was complete, we ventured out into the compound to size up the place, take in the scenes and goings on to prepare ourselves for a very busy 8 days of filming that starts tomorrow.

And here I have been inspired to add more decore to the Treehouse: fancy chalk drawings as decorations on the steps leading onto the veranda. They're everywhere and are such a simple and elegant way to add beauty to the home. Hema told us to wait because on New Year's day, the school children will have a chalk drawing competition! ...so more fancy drawings to come!
